Why Are We Renovating?

Our beloved playground has brought joy, adventure, and memories to countless children over the years, but like all well-loved spaces, it’s beginning to show its age. While it remains a special place, much of the equipment is no longer compliant with today’s safety standards, and some areas aren’t accessible to all children.

This renovation is about safety, inclusivity, and longevity, ensuring every child, regardless of ability, can play alongside their friends. It’s about keeping the magic of this playground alive while meeting the needs of our entire community for decades to come.

A Playground for Everyone

A key part of this project is accessibility and inclusivity. Not every child can use traditional playground equipment, and we want no one left on the sidelines. By adding inclusive features and designing with accessibility in mind, we’re creating a playground where every child can climb, run, and explore alongside their friends, without limits.

This is more than a renovation. It’s a chance to make Reamstown Playground a space where everyone belongs.

How We’re Making It Happen

We’re thrilled to officially share that we’ve partnered with Play by Design, the same team who helped bring our original playground to life years ago (though under a different name).

The playground is custom-designed for our space, keeping the charm, hidden corners, and fun of the original while using composite materials for sustainability and durability. This isn’t a generic, catalog-style playground—this is a one-of-a-kind space built for our community, by our community.

Community Build: June 23–28, 2026

From the design process and fundraising to hands-on construction, volunteers will again play a major role in bringing this playground to life. Just like the original build, this will be a true community project, with families, neighbors, and local businesses contributing every step of the way.

How You Can Help

Because the park receives no tax-based funding, we rely fully on local support to make projects like this possible. Here’s how you can get involved:

• Volunteer – Help during build week, or assist with prep, logistics, and coordination.
